3.36.53pm GMT Tue 20th Dec 2005

Andrew Duff, ALDE spokesman on Constitutional Affairs responded to the speech by Tony Blair in the European Parliament in Brussels today on the budget deal agreed at the weekend by calling for a Committee of Enquiry.

Mr Duff said 'There should be a Committee of enquiry which will radically reform the financial systems of the EU including reform of the CAP and that the European Parliament should play a full part in the enquiry.'
